GeraldClamson(JerryLewis)isabankexaminerwholovesfishingonhisannualtwoweekholiday.UnfortunatelyonedayattheoceanhereelsinaninjuredgangsterinascubadivingsuitnamedSydValentine(alsoplayedbyLewis).SydtellsGeraldaboutdiamondshehasstolenfromtheothergangstersandhandshimamap.Geraldescapesasfrogmenfromayachtmachinegunthebeach.TheyswimashoreandlocateSydwheretheymachinegunhim.TheirleaderThor(HaroldJ.Stone)ensuresSyd'sdemisebyfiringatorpedofromhisyachtthatgoesashoreblowingacraterintothebeach.　　AsthepoliceignoreGerald'sstory,GeraldheadstotheHiltonInninSanDiegowhereSydclaimedthediamondswerehidden.TherehemeetsSuzieCartwright(SusanBay),anairlinestewardess.Whilesearchingforthediamonds,heneedstoavoidthehotelstaffafterinadvertentlyhurtingthemanager(DelMoore).GeralddisguiseshimselfasacharacternoticeablysimilartoProfessorJuliusKelpfromTheNuttyProfessor,whiletryingtostayonestepaheadoftheothergangsterswhoareonhistail,aswellasthehoteldetectivesledbythemanager-allthewhilecourtingSuzie.AseachofthegangstersseeGerald,anidenticallookaliketothedeceasedSyd,theyhavenervousbreakdowns;oneimagininghimselfadog,oneturningintoaLarryFinelookalike,theother(CharlieCallas,inhisusualcharacter)becomingahopelessstutterer.TheonemanGeraldmeetsthewhobelieveshim,whoidentifieshimselfasaFBISpecialAgent,turnsouttobeanescapeefromaninsaneasylum.　　ThemovieclimaxesinachasethroughSeaWorldSanDiego,whereGeraldispursuedbyThor'sgangsters,arivalgroupofgangsterswhohadmadeadealwithSydtobuyhisdiamonds,andagroupofChinesewhosmugglethediamondsdisguisedasplasticpearls.GeralddisguiseshimselfasaKabukidancerbutispursueduntilSuzierescueshimbyflyingbywithahelicopteranddroppingaropeladderthatGeraldescapeson.TheyreturntothePacificOcean,whereSydreappears.ThegangsterschaseSydintotheocean,andGeraldandSuziewalkaway,deeplyinlove.Thediamondsareneverlocated.　　Thefinalsceneshowsthenarrator,FrankDeVol,facingthecameraandsolemnlyannouncingthatthetaleistrue—thenthecamerapullsbackasDeVolturnsandwalksawayonthebreakwaterwherethebeginningandendingactionhadtakenplace.DeVoliswearingallofabusinesssuitexcepttrousers,andheiscarryingabriefcase. 更多关于《大嘴巴》的精彩内容请持续关注小红帽影院。
