The1997FormulaOnecalendarfeaturedtwoneweventsintheLuxembourgGrandPrix,aswellastheAustrianGrandPrix,thelatterofwhichreturnedtothecalendarafteraten-yearabsence.TheonlyraceexitingthecalendarwasthePortugueseGrandPrixafter12yearsracedattheAutodromodoEstoril.
