最道貌岸然的就是这个大队长，看着一副正义凛然的样子，其实仔细看看为了他自己什么规则都破坏过，权力欲，控制欲，报复欲望还都特别的强。看看大队长平时透露的态度，好像整个芝加哥消防局除了51大队都是废物，而且明明对凯利他爹很反感，也知道凯利和他爹关系不好，但是凯利一提出找他爹来解决和新局长的矛盾，马上表现得特别积极，还紧追凯利着不放。

关系最好的是大队长和凯西，凯西升队长后苦恼和凯利的关系，大队长根本没有从两个人的专业角度分析，其实中心意思就一句话凯西级别高不用搭理凯利。当凯西工作失误搞死一个警察以后，大队长表态多坚决：“除非踩着他的尸体才能动凯西”。而凯西老丈人住院只去看过一次他老婆，却陪着大队长喝酒缅怀一个他不认识的歌手，一听说局长位置空缺以后，凯西最积极，大队长也给个台阶就上，大队长相当局长这是越多少级，其实本来新局长也说要把区副局长给他，而且凯西出的问题也是被新局长救的，可以想象他们这是有多来不及，也多没有人情，后面新局长黑化完全就是为了应付剧情需要而已，不然大队长就得黑化，想想一开始凯利把新局长说的多好。

前四季觉得凯利情商挺高的，后面越来越差，就是给大队长当枪使，因为自我业务能力强所以大队长还哄着他而已，真正的好处一点没有，好像第三季就透露过有升队长的资格，这都第七季了还是副队，凯利出事大队长除了嘴上哄哄之外基本公事公办，被人诬陷放火时也一句话不说，对比一下凯西搞死警察的态度显而易见，而凯利帮大队长却是要求他亲爹去搞他干爹。
